Section 2 My Past Due January 8
1. Describe your life up until the play begins. (3-4 paragraphs)

3. List each scene you are in. What are your preceeding circumstances? (When you enter where have you been?) What is your exit goal? (When you exit where are you going?) Why?
4. Character Goal Setting. Set goals for yourself. 5---1 year, 5---5 year and 5----10 year.
5. Personal Goal Setting. Set 5 goals to help you become a stronger actor/actress through this production.
Section 3 Who Am I? Due January 16
1. What are your character’s strengths (both mental and physical)? How are they are affected by the actions of the play.
2. What is your financial status? Does this affect you throughout the play?
3. Do you use proper English? Dialect? Where does this come from?
4. In what kind of home do you live?
5. Who helps your character? Who opposes your character?
6. What is the character’s general response to other people?

Section 4 What do I Want? Due January 22
1. What is your over-arching theme? (Your purpose over the course of the entire show)
2. What is your objective? (What you want to achieve?)

5. List each scene you are in. What are your objectives in each scene and describe how each relates to your over-arching theme?
6. Describe your polar attitudes. (Extreme Behaviors) Look at the beginning and ending of the play, show the changes that have occurred and indicate the causes.
7. How are your physically and psychologically different from the other characters.
8. Each character has good and bad qual. What is the good in you? What is the bad in you?
9. What are the differences between your character and you in real life?
10. What are the similarities between your character and you in real life?
11. Determine a psychological gesture. (Something you do that you don’t know you do. Ex. Twist hair, pop knuckles, etc.) How can you encorporate this into the production?
Section 5 Making it Real Due January 29
1. What animal best represents you?
2. What inanimate object best represents you?
3. What musical instrument best represents you?
4. Find a person in real life from whom you can base portions of yourself. Watch them for at least an hour. What are they like? How are they like your character? What can you encorporate into your character?
5. Make a list of as many adjectives as possible which best describe you. (At least 20)
6. List the external elements that affect your character. (Weather, scenery, traffic.) What effect does each have on you? (at least 5)
7. Endow all of your props. Give them a complete history, just as you have done for yourself. If the script does not indicate you having props, make a choice to have one. What can you have and how can you use it? (Where did you get it? Why do you have it? What is special about it?)
Section #6 Using the Text Due February 5
1. How do people treat you when you are present? Behind your back?
2. How do you treat others?
3. Make a list of each character in the show and write your relationship to each of them.
4. Who likes you? Who dislikes you? Whom do you like? Whom do you not like?
