PLAY REPORT
This may be turned in anytime throughout the trimester until November 17 .
How to do a Play Report
You are to see one play a trimester. This is worth 100 points.
In order to do a proper report on a performance, this report must be turned in within a week of the performance. If the report is not turned in by the deadline, it will be worth half credit.
The report must follow the below requirements:
· It must be typed
· Ticket or program must be stapled to the paper.
· Your name, class period, play, playwright, producing organization in the upper left hand corner.
1-2 paragraph plot summary
What is the story of the play? What is the location and time period?
1-paragraph on Costuming
Pay close attention to the costuming. Look at color and shape. Do they enhance the storytelling and characters? Why or why not? Using detail describe one costume or group of costumes in the show.
1-paragraph on Scenery
Pay close attention to the scenic elements. Look at color and structure. Is this a “realistic show” (does it look real) or is it a “suggestive show” (symbolic or simple)? How much scenery is there? How do the scene changes work? Using detail describe one scenic element in the show.
1-paragraph on Lighting (including special effects)
Pay close attention to the lighting? Look for color and mood. Is the lighting and changes noticeable? Using detail describe one lighting moment in the show.
